The environments we live in are basically made up of the horizontal plane we walk on, vertical planes and one or more planes above our heads. These are the surfaces we live in. Taken together they define how we move, work, eat, sleep and live.
More than the objects contained in these spaces, it is the surfaces composing them that determine and influence the quality of the places we live in.
Out of all the materials available, wood is most suitable to the requirements of a habitable surface: wood is environmentally friendly and sustainable, it is insulating, light, durable, safe, warm in winter and cool in summer and it always smells good.
In over fifty years of research we have come to know what types of wood are best suited for parquets, which woods are best for surface coverings and which are most resistant out of doors.
